WhisperVoca is in open beta on Mac. If you have been waiting to try offline voice dictation that stays on your machine, you can download it today.
There are builds for Apple Silicon (M1, M2, M3, and later) and Intel Macs. Grab the one that matches your chip from the download section.
What it does
Hold a shortcut, talk, and your words show up in whatever app you are in — email, notes, docs, code editors, chat. Transcription happens on your Mac using a local Whisper model. Nothing is uploaded.
Download a model once inside the app, then you can dictate offline. That is the whole point for us: private, local, and usable without Wi-Fi.
It is still a beta
We are calling this a beta on purpose. The core loop works, but you will probably hit rough edges. If something feels broken or missing, tell us. That feedback is what this phase is for.
Privacy, briefly
Your voice is transcribed on your device and the audio is discarded. We do not upload recordings or train models on what you say. More detail is on the privacy page.
