WhisperVoca is voice dictation for Mac and Windows that runs entirely on your device. We built it because writing by voice should be fast and effortless without sending a recording of your voice to someone else’s servers.
Why we built it
Most dictation tools send your microphone audio to a remote server to be transcribed. That means your words, in your voice, leave your computer every single time you speak, and dictation stops the moment your connection drops. For anyone handling sensitive writing, such as medical notes, legal drafts, or private journaling, that is a real problem.
Modern speech models are now good enough and fast enough to run locally, so we built WhisperVoca around that idea. Transcription happens on your machine using Whisper-class models, the app itself is a lightweight native build for Mac and Windows, and nothing about your voice ever needs to touch the cloud.
What we believe
Privacy is the default
Your voice is transcribed on your own machine and the audio is discarded. There is no server in the loop, so there is nothing to log, store, or leak.
No account, ever
You do not sign up, hand over an email, or log in to dictate. The app works the moment you install it.
You own what you buy
There is a free tier, and paid plans are a one-time or yearly purchase. No mandatory subscription and no feature held hostage behind a login.
Built to stay out of your way
Hold a hotkey, speak, let go. WhisperVoca pastes into whatever app is focused and then disappears until you need it again.
